Art show in Vista!

6th grade students in Wendy Watts' English classes at Vista Academy worked with Lux Teaching Artist Kahea Milroy for 15 weeks to create paintings, sculpture and collages inspired by artwork from Lux's valise collection.

A student and her family stand in front of log-slice landscape paintings, inspired by Alison Moritsugu's Field Box valise.
The teacher and her daughter!

Each student chose a personal symbol to create in clay after viewing Todd Noe's American Roadshow valise.

Still-life paintings show surprising angles and viewpoints of ordinary objects. These paintings were inspired by Ruben Ochoa's Real Image valise.

More photos from the art show are posted to our Flickr site.
